A Sick & Cold Week

It's been a long week. My girls came over last weekend sick and got me sick. Had good week of running last week, but this week was poor for running. Cold temps and then sick on top of all I had to take it easy. This week I hope to make up for lost miles.

Mizuno Wave Cabrakan

The new shoe's ( Mizuno Wave Cabrakan ) are working out very well. I have been through a lot of shoe's. It is still to soon to say how thay hold up for the long haul. Some good 10mile runs on the trails and I like them! The snow is on the way and that's what I got them for. I will rack up some good miles on this long weekend. Happy Thankgiving!!!

Nice Weekend

We had a great weekend, sunny and warm. Will be all down hill, with winter coming up fast. I had some good run's, low on the over all miles but did a lot of hill's. I have been resting a lot, was sort of off season for me to be ready for all the 100 mile races of 2010. But in the coming weeks I will work on uping my mile's and speed.

Sunny Days

Some of our last sunny & warm running weekends. Nice 8 mile run, on a nice warm fall day. I got a pair of Mizuno wave cabrakan shoe's for my winter training. I use, and love my La Sportiva fire blades. I keep a few pair as backups. I have used many shoe's in the past few years, and the fire blades never let me down. But I wanted to try the mizuno wave, for the grip in the snow.

Good 10 mile run up and down hills in the cool fall temps. Starting to work my weekly miles back up, my off season is over, time to move the miles up to be ready for spring 2010. I will start to pick my races soon. I had a good time with my girls going trick or treating, then a pizza party with friends and our kids. My girls got a lot of candy. Good times.

Shopping trip

I went for a little shopping trip, for some warm winter gear. Some pant's and shirts. Last winter I didn't have good gear ( cheap ). I would get wet and cold. So I needed better tech layer's.

A cold & rainy fall

It's fall, and it sure feel's like it. The cold and rainy weather we have been getting. Everyone's sick or talking about getting sick. Some people are still running race's like the first Oil creek 100 but, I have been taking a break, run all winter hard and peak in the spring for early racing.

Hot run

Back to running tough technical trails. Perkins trail is 4.1 miles long ( x2 for 8.2 miles total) horse trail it's a blast to run, but with the temp 90 it's a hot run. A few horse rider's to work around. Ankle's have some pain, but other wise good run up in down all hill's.

I want to run

It's been a week since my race and a light sprain in my right ankle. I need to get out and run! I have some small races coming up this fall. Nothing really importent to me, more just part of my training. It's all part of my training for a badass 2010 race season!

My first ultramarathon race

Aug 1st, I ran the Burning River 100. A 100 mile race may have been a little to big, for a 1st race. But I log good weekly miles. I ran a good, but using road shoes insted of my trial shoes, was a bad choice with the streams being high. But I had the 1st 13 miles of road so I had wet feet till about mile 30. I felt so good till mile 50 and my right ankle started to hurt. I moved on but the swelling got to the point at mile 70.3 at little over 17hr45min decided drop, to save my self for future races this fall.
